課程概述

This course offers student a way to practice, to refine, strengthen, and stretch their acting craft set to create a truthful performance. Students are paired and work with each other, with the teacher acting as director to give constructive feedback that helps students explore and examine the possibilities of the scene. The focus of the class is on detailed text analysis, character building, collaboration and exploration with a scene partner. Students are expected to create characters, connect to the emotions of the part, and fight for what they need and put them into a performance.  

課程目標
1. Students will learn advanced rehearsal skills and be able to identify the core action and spine of a scene, and translate this into their character work and rehearsal process.
2. Students will also learn to explore different writers, styles and genres of scripts and get to practice creating different characters.
3. Students will learn how to break down a script into playable actions, as well as develops their dexterity to approach different characters truthfully.
4. This course also helps students realize the collaborative process between actors and directors. It will help students perform their roles with a keen awareness of the intent of the director.
